Disillusioned Boomers

I believe that there are multitudes of disillusioned baby boomers who have given up on the christian church.  They have faith in God but have seen so much that isn’t of God in their experience of church that they have just quit on organized religion.

I know, I was one. I had gotten to a place that I was so disenchanted with the business as usual and the mean spirited, judgemental and exclusive attitudes that were so prevalent in my “church experience” that I just left “church.”

Please understand that I didn’t give up on God or my faith in Him, I gave up on organized religion at I was experiencing it.  So much of what God has revealed to me about Himself did not line up with what was being portrayed at “His Body, the church”.  Frankly, I don’t believe that He has anything to do with much of what is being done in His name.

In recent days I have been give new hope about the condition of “the church in America.” My hope for this blog space andwww.emergingboomer.org is that I will have the opportunity to dialogue with any and all who are interested in the future of the Christian Church. Hopefully, we can build a network of boomers and others who are interested this.
